Mussoorie International School is one of the finest boarding schools in India for girls from grade 1 to 12. Established in 1984 and is set in a beautiful location overlooking pristine hills of Mussoorie, spreading across an area of approximately 40 acres.

At MIS, every student identifies herself as MIStar. The session commences in February and ends in the mid-week of December. It is home to students from more than 27 different countries bringing with them diverse cultures, talents, and languages. It is affiliated with CISCE, ISCE, & ISC - New Delhi. The Student-Teacher ratio is 1:10. In all the school has 50 classes, 15 Labs, 100 Teachers, and 500 students. 

Dr Shayama Chona is the Cheif Mentor who is awarded The Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by the President of India along with many other awards. Ms Meeta Sharma is the Principal of MIS.

With the help of a definitive curriculum structure, excellent faculty and staff, every MIStar is rendered with personalized guidance, support, and counselling in a safe and nurturing environment. Beyond classroom activities includes co-curricular activities, sports, clubs and events, Tours and Excursions. Every student at MIS undergoes a general fitness program that includes weekly yoga classes. The students are given opportunities to join the school sports team.

The Campus has a centrally heated indoor swimming pool and provisions for the following games: Football, Basketball, Throw ball, Table Tennis, Lawn tennis, Badminton, Roller Skating, Gymnastics, Athletics, and Track events.

Facilities provided by the institution include a Dormitory, Kitchen and Dining, Library, Laboratory, Medical Centre, Recreational Area.

For the holistic development of the students, the school focuses on Enrichment through Creative and Performing Arts, Empowerment through technology, Different clubs such as Photography club, Literary club, Debate club, Gardening club, Theatre club, and Robotics; Events such as Bookfair, French fest, MIS MUN, Village Immersion Program, Annual Sports day and Swimming Gala.

The school also offers in-school classes for CLAT, PSAT, SAT, NID, BM, IELTS, Engineering & NEET examinations. 

There are three boarding houses, Gayatri, Santoshi, and Laxmi. The boarding team is headed by the Principal, who is supported by skilled and highly qualified teaching and residential staff, and a range of support staff.

MIS serves a purely vegetarian diet for its students. The kitchen staff is very cautious about food allergies. Every day five meals are served. The menu is planned in consultation with the nutritionist, students, and staff.

School visits can be scheduled on any working day, that is Monday to Saturday, between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. MIS is 60 km from Dehradun Airport (Jolly Grant Airport). Several buses are available for Mussoorie, after reaching Dehradun. It takes about 2 hours to reach the Mussoorie bus stand from ISBT Dehradun.

Based on the availability of seats, students are admitted throughout the year. Admissions are offered in all grades (except X and XII).

Admission process:

1. Fill the Registration form

2. Submit the duly filled form along with the required documents via courier.

3. Admission desk will verify the form and the documents and revert if the student is eligible.

4. An online aptitude test is conducted for the student (from Grade 1 onwards) followed by interaction with the child and the family.

5. Following the test, if selected, the parents will receive a provisional admission letter.

6. On receiving the provisional admission letter, the parents are required to complete all the admission formalities within 15 working days to block the seat.

Documents required at the time of registration:

1. Aadhar card

2. Passport size photo of the student - SIX

3. An attested photocopy of the student's birth certificate.

The school will mail the registration confirmation on verification of the documents and receipt of the registration fee.
