Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chennai

Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Chennai, is an Indian Institute of Technology secondary school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education board in Chennai, India. Established in 1964, it is part of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Vision

• To cater to the children of the Central Government employees' educational needs, including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a standard education programme.
• To pursue excellence in the field of school education.
• To initiate and promote experimentation in education in collaboration with other bodies like the National Council of Educational Research and Training and CBSE.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an independent body set up by the Indian Ministry of Education. For catering to the educational needs of the children of IIT employees, Shri. S. Ramachandran was the first principal of the Vidyalaya, composed of 24 staff members.

The institute has divisions for the primary, secondary and senior secondary sections. Over the last 40 years, the Vidyalaya has received guidance and support from the IIT-Chennai ten directors and ten Vidyalaya principals. Attendance is more than two thousand students. It celebrated its golden jubilee in 2013.

• Admissions take place only in KG.
• If there are any vacancies in other classes, it will be notified on the school website or office by the end of March.
• Procedure for admissions starts in February every year for the next following academic session.
