TRAINING

The Institute for the Blind also provides the students with the facility of various training. Some of the activity that has been given in Institute for the blind are Vocational Training, mobility Training, Computer Training and Music Training.

  1. Vocational Training: The students of this Institute are given training of traditional crafts like candle making and the making of chairs with ropes. Girls students are trained in activities like embroidery, cooking, stitching and knitting.
  2. Music Training: Music is an essential part of our culture. Music is given significant importance in this Institute. Students are trained in classical music, and also they are prepared with tabla with an experienced teacher. 
  3. Computer Training: Computer is a crucial subject and also an essential part of our daily life curriculum. This Institute has two computer labs with a total of 24 computers with all the necessary technology to teach visually impaired and disabled students. This Institute has software like JAWS, NVDA and SUPERNOVA, and with the help of this software, the teacher introduces the visually impaired students with great efforts.
  4. Mobility Training: Mobility plays an important and vital role in the functioning of the visually impaired child. Blind students mainly have postures and gait problems. Regularly, mobility training has been given to students. 

 

EYE CAMPS

The Institute for the Blind also arranges and organises eye camps for eye check-ups twice a year. Free medicines are provided to the needy students, and even patients requiring money for operations are also given money from the school fund. 

 

INFRASTRUCTURE

The Institute for the Blind is an excellent school for the visually impaired students. It is a private school with a total of 8 classrooms. The total enrollment of students in this school is 153, and a total of teachers is 38. HOSTEL FACILITY

Hostel facility is available for 70 boys and 70 girls. Boys and girls have separate hostels with all the requirements and suitable facilities of toilets, solar water heating arrangements, TV and indoor games facility.

 

SCHOLARSHIP

This Institute gives scholarships to all its ex-students undergoing UG course in various colleges at the rate of rupees 1000/-. This school also provide a grant of rupees 500/- to its students so that they can buy study and educational material.

  1. Admission is open to both boys and girls with any discrimination of caste, colour or creed
