DBMS English School, Kadma, Jamshedpur was established in 1965. The school is managed by Dakshina Bharatha Mahila Samaj which is registered under the Registration of Society Act 1960. The managing committee consisting of representatives from the Samaj, parents, educationists, social workers as well as local firms run the school.DBMS is affiliated with CISCE.

As part of the physical development, students have the option to choose from Yoga, Aerobics and Karate, apart from the regular games periods that form an essential part of their timetable. Physical Education (PE), Games and other co-curricular activities are a mandatory part of every student's education. However, if a student is unable to participate in such physical activities, the parents are requested to provide a medical certificate stating the same.

Games like cricket, basketball, football and lawn tennis are promoted at the primary school level and taught by the most professional of faculties. Students are motivated to participate in both indoor and outdoor extracurriculars. Additionally, students selected in the school team must report for coaching whenever she/he is contacted. To maintain an exceptionally high standard of performativity, regular tournaments in different games are conducted. Therefore, students who showcase excellent progress in their field are urged to participate in the state as well as national level tournaments.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION

• Admission into the school is subject to these few conditions: vacancies, performance in the entrance test, personal interview and age.
• Entry into Class 11 is based on the admission committee's decision (Basis for which is the academic performance in class 10 as well as the general discipline record of the student) and shall be final.
• Parents are not allowed to approach the Principal, Vice-principal or any of the management members after their ward's admission has been rejected.
• The admission committee reserves the right to refuse the admission without notifying any reason.

Essential documents required on the day of admission:

• Original Birth certificate attached with the hospital record slip for verification
• Original Aadhar card along with a photocopy of the same
• Two passport-size photographs of the applicant
• A copy of the applicable blood group of the applicant, as issued by a doctor.
• The parents of BPL applicants have to produce the original Red Card along with the Income Certificate
• The parents should be present with the applicant during the admission procedure
