Vidya Mandir Senior secondary school, Chennai is one of the finest and renowned schools in the city. It was founded in 1956 and is one of the oldest schools of the city. The school became a co-educational school in 1978 and maintains an excellent teacher to student ratio of 1:21. It is affiliated to CBSE board it imparts education from LKG to class 12.

The campus has facilities and infrastructure like well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology and separate labs for computer and language, a library with hundreds of reference books, journals, dallies, reviews and encyclopaedias. Every classroom is equipped with a computer, LCD projector and audio-visual facility. It also offers special needs sessions for the students who are slow learners so that they can cope up with the studies. Counselling sessions are also held by the school for the students to cope up with modern day anxiety. 

The school follows the stress free pattern for the junior level classes and there are no examinations held for them. Holistic and over all development is the goal of the school. It offers a many extra curricular activities such as yoga, karate, dance (jazz, pop, kathal) music (vocal and instrumental)
