The Indian School was founded in 1996, by the Gyan Mandir Society and is situated in Josip Broz Tito Marg, Sadik Nagar, New Delhi. It is a Senior-Secondary school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school has a spacious campus sprawling across an area of several acres.

The academic environment of the school is a beautiful amalgam of technology (smart class) and a teacher's human touch. Multimedia-linked smart boards, internet-based learning, subject laboratories, and a multidisciplinary curriculum constitute an integral part of the educational system. Educomp-designed lessons and the traditional textbooks complement each other very well. A unique feature of the school is its Learning Centre, which is essentially a library with its resource room which has an internet connection and a xerox machine for students to use.

The management at the school is child-centric and tries to cater to the needs of every student, especially those with learning disabilities. The school believes that practical knowledge is as necessary as theoretical knowledge, which is evident by looking at its state-of-the-art labs for computers, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and psychology.

They have specialized teaching rooms for environmental studies, business studies, fashion technology, engineering graphics, and a fully computerized teachers' resource centre. There is also an English language lab, where students can watch various English plays, to get a better grasp of the language. The school also houses a Science Activity Center. The annual Science exhibition is held on the Independence day (15th of August), where the students get a chance to showcase their talent and scientific temperament.

The school campus has a gigantic multipurpose Auditorium on the ground floor, and also an 80-seater AV room for conducting conferences, workshops, educational film shows, assemblies, PPT and teacher-training programmes.

The school cares a lot about its parents/guardians. They are invited as guests to various events like the class assemblies, dance and musical events, sports days, art exhibitions and annual days. Parents of classes 10th and 11th are given roles during the summer placement internship drives. The school feels that sports can boost a child's' confidence by manifolds. It houses a football field, a cricket pitch, basketball court, athletic track, spectator stands, an indoor badminton court and tables for table tennis.
