Saint Thomas School is situated in Kanpur and was started in 1986 by Late Father Rev. Benedict Pereira with a motive to nurture every single child with lots of love and care by imbibing moral and social values. The school was established with just four classrooms, two teachers and few students on the roll and now it has over 1000 admissions and massive infrastructure. It came into existence because of the immediate need of the Christian missionary school. Since then till now it has carved new heights by becoming one of the greatest educational institutions in the Kanpur city. It is constantly setting new goals to hit every day for the enhancement and betterment of the institutions. Currently, it is run by the Father Melwin Wilson Dsouza who earnestly seeks the feedback and co-operation of teachers and parents to all his endeavours to take St Thomas to new heights.

The school campus is sited on 3.2 acres of land comprised of a well-stocked library, equipped labs for physics, chemistry, maths, biology and computers: a play area, spacious classrooms and rooms for music and dance.
St. Thomas follows ICSE based curriculum. Value and moral education classes are an integral part of the curriculum, and equal importance is given to spiritual environment like academic development. Counselling sessions are provided to students to cope up with modern-day anxiety and to overcome personal difficulties. 
The school conducts courses in athletics, dance, music, physical training, karate, literary activities, excursion and picnics. The students are encouraged to participate in various sports like basketball, handball, kho kho, football and indoor games.
The school encourages social services and responsibility by reaching to poor for help and often organize rallies for noble causes.
The school has various records and achievements and of them is that it offers help to Shishu bawan- it is a home for aged runs by the nuns of missionaries of Delhi

The school admits children in LKG, UKG and class I. For admission in LKG the minimum age of the child as on April 1 of the academic year should be of 3.5 years while for UKG the child should be 4.5 years of age.

Registration forms are available at school office on the dates fixed by the school. The cost of a registration form is Rs. 100 and only parents are allowed to fill in the form and submit it on the spot (Forms are not to be taken out of the school campus). Date and time for the interview/test are mentioned in the counterfoil of the registration form, which must be produced at the time of the interview/test, during which the child must be accompanied by both parents. Results of the interview/test are displayed on the school notice board/school website.
