St. Lawrence High School, Mumbai

St Lawrence High School, situated on Linking Road at Santacruz West in Mumbai, was established in May 1961 by Jaysen M Jayakar and his wife Kalpana J Jayakar. They started the school as a way to help transport English education in the suburbs of the city. St. Lawrence High School at Santacruz is the second educational institution founded by them, the first of the franchise being based in the area of Parel, an area inhabited by the mill workers as well as the working classes of the city. After co-founding both these branches, they have also established a third one in Marol for those working in small-scale industries. It is considered to be one of the best schools in Mumbai.

St. Lawrence High School, Santacruz is part of a franchise or group of schools that includes - first, St. Lawrence Kids that hosts pre-primary education, i.e. from Kindergarten I and II; second, St. Lawrence Primary School that is in charge of primary education, i.e. classes 1 to 4, and last, St. Lawrence High School that provides secondary education to students from class 5 to 10. The school aims at imparting quality education to all irrespective of their castes, creed, religion and financial background.

Uniform is a way of implementing discipline, and the uniform of the school comprises of navy blue pants paired with a light blue up collar shirt for boys, and for girls, the uniform comprises of a navy blue pin frock and light blue jacket. However, track pants are utilised for physical education.
