Salwan Public School (SPS) is situated at Rajinder Nagar in New Delhi. It is a co-ed day school established in 1953 by the Salwan Educational Trust. Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE), New Delhi, the school targets excellence in academics as well as extracurriculars. The school maintains excellent faculty who are well trained to assist students with learning obstacles. The school is well known for one of the many steps towards social welfare like it offers a unique education program for the visually impaired students. The school also hosts an extended day-program to meet their individual needs.

The school campus is equipped with a well-stocked library with nearly 25,000 books, an amphitheatre, an air-conditioned multipurpose hall, a dispensary managed by a qualified nurse and attendant, an in-house book shop and a cafeteria that serves nutritious, hygienic and delicious meals. Facilities also include a modernistic Biotech laboratory and General Science lab, two computer labs, a robotics lab, a Physics lab and a Chemistry lab.

There is also present an activity block which hosts a music room equipped with various musical instruments, a separate air-conditioned dance room comprising of large mirrors, an art room designed for activities like clay modelling, drawing and craft, along with an air-conditioned well-equipped gym. 

Salwan Public School encourages its students to participate in physical well-being. Hence, sports facilities include three fields – one for athletics, the second is cricket ground along with two smaller practice pitches, a football ground, two basketball courts as well as two volleyball courts. There is also a special play area for the young classes consisting of a skating rink and swings.

 Additionally, extracurriculars are deemed important by the school. Thus, it promotes activities like yoga, skating, art and craft, dance, music, drawing, painting, physical education, clay modelling, paper mache, creative writing, art education, among many others to furnish their latent skills.

The students of Class 10 fill the forms for the selection of streams as per their interest. After, the merit list is prepared according to the results of Classes 9-10. 

As there are a limited number of seats available in each stream, the following criteria are followed for allocating the streams:

Admission to other classes is subject to vacancy in the desired class. The students wanting admission to SPS must apply in February, by filling an application form, available at the school reception. Overseeing the vacancies in each class, a written test will be conducted.

Admission into the desired class is based on merit. Recommendation of any kind might disqualify the candidate from admission. However, registration/successful submission of the application form does not guarantee confirmation of admission.

Required self-attested documents to be attached with the registration form to be submitted for admission:

• Birth Certificate of the candidate
• Residence Proof (any one of the following) - Ration Card/Smart Card issued in the name of the parents or Domicile Certificate of the child or his/her parents or Voter ID of the parents or Electricity Bill/Telephone Bill/Water Bill/Passport in the name of the parents or child or Aadhaar Card issued in the name of the parents 
• Documents required as a proof for the point-based system:
• -> First Born Child: Declaration by the parents on Rs.10/- non-judicial stamp paper
• -> Alumni: Class 12 School Leaving Certificate/Mark sheet presented by the school

• Admission will be based on the documents attached as well as a cross-verification of the original documents. 
• The parents will be notified of the dates for verification of the original documents at the time of registration.
• Information regarding parents’ profession and educational qualification will be used only for detailed processing.
• Admission for the General Category of seats is based upon the criteria as per the point/lottery system. 
• If there is a tie between any candidates for any seat, there will be a lottery held.
• Incomplete forms will not be disqualified.
