Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV) Shalimar Bagh, founded in 2001, is one of the 21 RPVV schools. RPVV is located in North West Delhi. The school is considered one of the best government schools in Delhi. The Directorate of Education, Delhi runs the school. Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya, Shalimar Bagh is a co-ed school affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, offering classes from 6th to 12th. Mr S.S Singhal is the founding principal of the school, while the current principal is Mrs Sarita Batra.

RPVV, Shalimar Bagh, is situated ten km from the north campus of the University of Delhi. Along with a large green field with four lawns and three playgrounds, the school also has one well-equipped auditorium, a modernistic library and subscription to essential newspapers and magazines. The school has laboratories for different subjects - Sciences, Social sciences, Mathematics, as well as home science. Additionally, there is also an outstanding maths zone equipped with modern technology.

• School Magazine: The school magazine named "Parichay" covers events hosted by the school, and features contributions by the students - poems, articles, illustrations and jokes. The magazine is published in English, Sanskrit and Hindi.
• National Cadet Corps (NCC): The school has two different wings for NCC - Boys wing and Girls wing. Both the wings participate in various events over the year along with training camps organized in the school.

Eligibility criteria for admission/registration:

• The student should have secured at least 60% aggregate in the previous class
• Students who have consecutively studied for at least two years in Delhi Govt/Govt-aided/MCD/NDMC/Delhi Cantonment Board Schools located at Delhi

Essential Documents to be submitted for the application process:

• Passport-size photo of the student (Note: The parent can paste another passport-size photograph should be pasted on the application form)
• Aadhaar card of the student
• Marksheet of the previous class attested by concerned HoS for admittance into the next class

The admission procedure will be carried out as follows:

• An online module has been designed to register for the Entrance Test for admission.
• The eligible students from HOS of the Govt., Govt. Aided, Schools of DOE, NDMC and Delhi Cantt can apply. Also, qualified students from Board Schools shall register ONLINE as well. 
• The Admit Card for the registered student will be issued by HOS of the school after successful submission of the application form, along with the required documents. 

Details of the Entrance Test:

• All the registered candidates have to appear the exam without fail.
• A processing fee of Rs 50 (non-refundable), for the exam, in cash has to be submitted during the registration process.
• The registration fee is applicable only for Class 9. No fee for Entrance Test is charged for students applying for any classes from 6-12. 
• Admission into the school will be based on the results of the entrance test only.

The entrance exam will comprise of:

• Section A - Objective questions (100 marks) on the following topics - Numerical ability, Mental ability, General knowledge. 
• Section B - Language comprehension (10 marks; each in Hindi and English)
• Section C - Subjective questions to test writing skills in both - English and Hindi.
• The duration of the test is 2 hours & 20 minutes.
