Hill Top School , East Singhbhum

The Hill Top School, Jamshedpur was established in 1976 with a few students and a handful of teachers. It is a co-education senior secondary school affiliated to the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) board. The school was primarily built for the education and nurturing of children of Tata Motors employees but takes in other students as well. It has established itself as one of the Premier English-medium schools in the city.

The school curriculum is multi-disciplinary. The faculty is competent and well-experienced. 

The school classrooms have been modified into digital classrooms. As far as Subject laboratories are concerned, the school has an Atal Tinkering Lab (developed by NITI Aayog), a chemistry lab, a physics lab, a biology lab, and a computer lab. It also houses two spacious libraries (for junior and senior wings respectively) with a wide array of books on various subjects.

The school follows a house system, the names of the houses are- Akbar House, Ashoka House, Nehru House and Tagore House. A student council is selected, separate for the junior and senior wing. A house in charge is allotted to all of the four houses to ensure smooth sailing. Every student is assigned to a particular house at the time of admission, and they have to compete throughout the academic year in the field of singing, dancing, sports events, quizzes, elocutions etc. to lay on their hands on the prestigious title of Best House. The school has various clubs- ATL club, music club, toy-making club, English literary club etc.

Sports and physical activity constitute an integral part of the curriculum. Students are actively encouraged to keep themselves physically fit. The school has a playing field, a cricket pitch, basketball courts etc. It has also hired specialized coaches to ensure that students can play with the right technique.

Since its inception, the school is known for its discipline, integrity, accountability, transparency and child-centric approach. The school website has two sections dedicated to Blogs written by students and teachers, respectively. In these blogs, both students and teachers get a chance to share their ideas and thoughts, especially during the CoVid-19 pandemic.

The admission process for Hill Top School starts every year in May and the school starts in July.
