Delhi Public School, Vijayawada

Delhi Public School, situated at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, was established in 2007. It is a co-educational day-cum-residential school managed by the DPS Society. It is one of many in the chain of schools founded by the DPS Society all over the country. The medium of instruction followed here is English. DPS, Vijayawada is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education based in New Delhi and provides educational facilities from Nursery till class 12.

Age Criteria

Age of the candidate as on 21st October 2019 in the birth certificate will determine the eligibility for admission.

Admission Procedure

• The admission counselling can be carried out physically in person, over the phone as well as through the mail.
• These essential documents to commence the registration process - application form, school’s profile, syllabus for the screening assessment should be obtained in person from the school office.
• The candidate has to pass a screening assessment (applicable for classes 1 to 10) followed by an interactive session to assess his/her motor skills.

Note: The Application Form is not transferable. The form issued by the school will only be used for the admission.

Documents Required for the Registration process:

• The Application Form
• One recent passport-size coloured photograph of the candidate pasted on the form
• Copies of the admit card with recent passport-size coloured photographs of the candidate pasted on the same.
• Photocopy of the original birth certificate (issued by Municipal Corporation)

Note: The Application form will be rejected if there are any differences present between the information filled in and the supporting documents. Original of these supporting documents are required for verification at the time of admission.

Admission into Nursery and Preparatory

• Admission into Nursery and Preparatory is subject to the result of Observation–cum–Interaction process.
• Presence of both the parents during the observation as well as the interaction process is compulsory.
• Parents will have to bring the supporting documents mentioned above during observation–cum–Interaction.
• The admit card should be handed to the teacher who will be in charge of observation–cum–Interaction. Parent’s copy of the admit card should be retained by the parents as proof to collect their children after the assessment.

Guidelines for the screening assessment for Class 1 to 12

• From class 1 to 12, a screening assessment is conducted to be eligible for admission.
• Both the parents must accompany their ward to the school on the designated day of evaluation.
• Parents are requested to bring both the copies of the Admit Card on the same day.
• Parents should be aware and verify the date and time of assessment mentioned on the admit card.
• The screening assessment is timed for almost an hour; hence, parents are advised to plan their schedule accordingly.
• Before the commencement of the screening assessment, parents must hand over the student’s copy of the Admit Card to the teacher-in-charge.

Essential Documents to be procured at the time of admission

• Transfer Certificate issued by the previous school
• Previous year’s report card
• Medical certificate
• Original birth certificate (for verification purposes only)
• Recent passport-size coloured photographs of the candidate as well as both the parents
