Carmel Junior College , East Singhbhum

Carmel Junior College situated at Sonari in Jamshedpur is an English medium co-ed school. The school is managed by the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation and recognises young applicants from every creed, social class, community and linguistic group. This educational institution is a part of the Catholic Church’s effort and acknowledges a priority towards the Christian minority.

In means of sprawling infrastructure, the school hosts well-equipped laboratories for science apart from modernistic computer labs as well as a well-stocked library. The objective is to allow the students to progress and foster their latent talents and also keep pace with the advance level of education. Carmel Junior College encourages character formation and development of ethical values through the strategic use of value-based education.

Additionally, the school offers a diverse range of extracurriculars. It motivates its students to participate in sports and physical activities such as football, cricket, volleyball, handball and basketball at different competitive levels - Interschool, Zonal, National and International. Similarly, members of various teams have represented the district and state numerous times over the years. However, the extracurriculars are not part of the regular classes held at Carmel Junior but instead requires extra time and effort. Moreover, students have participated in chess tournaments, apart from which the school also hosts Grandparents Day and a dance contest every year.

To divide and provide students with a unique opportunity to participate in their interests, Carmel Junior College has been divided into clubs. The school has five active clubs which are led by a President; a Vice- President guided by at least two teacher moderators. These clubs are:

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

• Registration Forms will be available online on the school website (cjuniorcollege.com) on the specific prescribed dates.
• 70% of the total seats are reserved for girls and 30% for the boys
• The cost of the registration form is 200/- which has to be paid while downloading the registration form online. The money receipt has to be procured for future use.
• The school follows a few conditions for accepting the form as the basis for admission, which is as follows:

• Parents are requested to choose the category under which they wish to apply (only one category can be selected) and attach the supporting documents along with the registration form.
• Age Requirement: Applicant should have been born between 1st September 2017 – 31st August 2018
• One attested photocopy of Birth Certificate is to be attached.
• One postcard size photograph of both parents along with the applicant [Size in cm: 10.5 X 5.5] must be pasted in the respective place on the Registration Form.
• Thoroughly verified registration form along with the documents as mentioned above, have to be submitted according to the schedule posted on the school website.
• Transfer Certificate from the previous school should be presented at the time of admission.
• The applicant must be introduced personally to the Principal by the parents.
• Interaction of both the parents together with the applicant is mandatory.
• Parents/Guardians are required to fill in the registration form with accuracy. No changes will be after that for any reason.
• Promotion from class 9 to class 10 is purely based on the student’s performance, discipline and obedience throughout the academic year.
