Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan, Greater Kailash II is a co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The school was established in 1999 by the People Society Servants (SOPS), founded at Lahore by Lala Lajpat Rai. It was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1921.

Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan aims to fulfil the Lala Lajpat Rai's vision through broad-based training enabling the children to lead a more creative life and in times to come, become useful citizens of the country.

Campus

The 3-acre school campus has a library, labs for physics, chemistry, biology and computers. Other facilities include a music room, infirmary, dance rooms, an indoor games room and a big playground.

Academics

Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan provides an environment that offers security to the children and helps them to develop their physical, mental and social potential to the maximum. The school integrates disabled children with normal children and allows them to create a sense of self-reliance. Teachers regularly attend seminars, workshops etc. to keep themselves abreast with the latest developments and techniques in education.

For the hearing impaired children, the emphasis is on speech and language development, enabling children to communicate and paves the way for the child's mainstreaming. 

For the mentally subnormal children, the emphasis is laid on self-help skills. Selected children are sent for academic integration, and CBSE curriculum is followed with modification to suit the unique needs of the mentally subnormal children. 

The school offers special facilities for guidance and counselling, speech therapy, audiological assessment, language therapy, occupational therapy, vocational training, dance and music training, art and craft training, weekly intervention clinic, meditation and yoga, Dousa-Hou psycho-rehabilitative therapy and special education.

• Admissions start from January third week, and the total available seats for preschool admission are 165. The age eligibility for admission to the nursery is three years as on March 31 of the admission year.
• Admission tests for all classes except 11th are conducted in the last week of March every year. Students applying for admission must register their names in the first week of March every year.
• Class 11th admissions start after the announcement of class 10th board results and are granted based on marks scored in Class 10th exam and an entrance admission test conducted in the school.

Admission to special wing:

• Deaf and hard of hearing Children and Mentally Challenged Children: Children from the age of 4 years onwards are admitted.
