The Army School Amritsar Cantt was established under the directions and guidance of the then General Officer Mr AK Dewan. This institution is a non-profit oriented welfare organization which is imparting education mainly to the children of defence personnel, and a limited number of other categories including civilians. The main aim of the school is to provide quality education to children, strong moral and ethical values. The school is run under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society and is an unaided non-government school.

• Admission to children of serving Army personnel coming on transfer from outstation can be made at any time during the year, and they will not be denied admission, subject, however, to the stipulation laid down by the CBSE in Classes 9th-12th.
