Description

Army Public School, or APS is located in Noida is the brainchild of the former Army Chief Gen BC Joshi, who wished to provide education of international standards to the kids of Indian armed forces personnel. The school, founded on 17 February 1995 by the then Chief of Army Staff, General Shankar Roy Chowdhury, is under the control of the AWES (Army Welfare Education Society). Army Public School, Noida is effectively managed by the Western Command of the Indian Army.

The school has an affiliation to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows its pattern and curriculum. On the reception, there is a Taurus statue which indicates the motto of the school, which is 'Truth is God. ' It is a co-educational public school which houses 1000 pupils aged 5 to 18. Admission to the school is based on a competitive entrance examination and an interview, which is held for all.

The school hosts several spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, highly equipped laboratories, an auditorium with an air conditioning system, and a well-stocked library. APSN offers four streams with a total of nine combinations of subjects. Management science is a stream exclusively offered at APSN and includes the subjects English, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology and Computer science. The idea behind APSN is to provide an education that amalgamates Indian idealism and philosophy with a rational outlook of the West world. The school is an attempt to fulfil the long-cherished dream of the Indian Army to provide an excellent educational facility which is at par with the best in the world. The school continues to grow and spread every day as it aims to educate beyond the barriers of caste, creed, gender, race, religion and region. Sports are actively encouraged, and the school provides a football field, two basketball courts, tennis court, squash court, two indoor badminton court and two table-tennis tables.
