To increase competitiveness as well as a team spirit, the students of Army Public School are divided into four houses - Manekshaw, Vaidya, Sunderji and Cariappa. Annually, there are activities and tournaments held between the houses, and the Cockhouse Trophy is awarded to the highest achieving house based on academic results and extracurriculars. Apart from inter and intra school sports activities at the zonal, national and international levels, there are also additional co-curricular activities available. These activities are recitation, extempore, declamations, music, dramatics, excursions, painting, etc. 

The objective of Army Public School at Meerut is to establish a value-based education system. It inculcates computer-aided learning, excursions, career counselling, an extension of CAL facility, regular update of the school library along with a periodic audit of the student as well as teachers' performance to improve the standards of overall academic performance. 

Admission Criteria

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE

  • New applicants for admission are admitted throughout the session.
  • Admission for children of serving army personnel, coming on transfer from outstation, can be made any time during the year.
  • They will not be denied admission, subject to the stipulation laid down by CBSE for class 11-12.
  • Admission of civilian children to army public school will not be at the cost of army children.
  • Only 20% of the seats are reserved for the civilian students (inclusive of NIR children) only after granting admission to all army children.
  • The school also ensures 100% admission of army children through a prescribed number of preserved seats for mid-session admission.

Priority while granting admission will be provided to:

  • Children of serving Army personnel (including DSC)
  • Children of army widows
  • Children of that TA personnel who have a minimum of 10 years of embodied service
  • Children of army Ex-servicemen, DSC per se retd. with a pension from DSC
  • Children of serving air force and naval personnel
  • Children of the retired air force and naval personnel
  • Children of ex-army personnel who left the army with a minimum of 10 years of service
  • Children of civilians paid by defence estimates, paramilitary forces including coast guards, MES, GREF, TA

Please note: An evaluation test might be conducted for the applicants to facilitate further academic coaching and allocation of the respective sections. However, the evaluation test will not be treated are a condition for admission and the child entitled admission based on the criteria as mentioned above is allowed to attend classes within 48 hours of reporting to the school.
