Ambience Public School, New Delhi

The Ambience Public School, established in 1971, is a co-educational, English-medium, senior-secondary school following the CBSE curriculum. It is situated in the Safdarjung Enclave and is spread around an area of approximately 1.75 acres.

The academic system of APS is child-centric and multifaceted. The school supports experiential learning and actively encourages its students to learn, question and be inquisitive so that the students can develop a scientific temperament. Olympiads and Symposiums are held frequently during the academic year, APS heavily feels that the use of appropriate technology in academics can help the students understand both the theoretical as well as practical aspects of the subject. 

The infrastructure includes smart classes, technology labs, science laboratories, a spacious auditorium, library, a teacher's learning centre, a reflection room, an art room, a music room, a medical clinic and a cafeteria. A lot of emphases is given to sports as well. There are certified coaches and instructors to ensure that children who are interested in sports can get the correct guidance. Special facilities are available for hockey, basketball, cricket, football etc.

As far as the extracurricular activities are concerned, the school organises several cultural events throughout the year; there are competitions for dancing, singing, debate competitions etc. APS has many clubs and societies, and students have the liberty to be a part of them. These groups include the literati league, the green club, club francais, the tech mech and the WizQuiz club.

The APS has a well-developed transport system with nine buses (which are given designations, i.e. route numbers) which pick and drop students and teachers to their respective homes.

The APS and its students regularly take part in social programs like the Ambience Teacher Mentorship Program were first implemented in 2015 to monitor and help in improving the skills of school teachers from both Government and Private School systems.

For Admission in Nursery (there is a point-based system with maximum points being 100) the following criterion is used:

• Neighbourhood- up to 5Km- 70, 5-10Km- 60 and for more than 10Km 30 points are awarded.
• Sibling studying in the APS- 20
• Alumni- 10

Total Seats= 152 ( 75% i.e. 114 for General & 25% i.e. 38% for OBC/SC/ST/EWS)

Admissions in other classes are made based on whether there are vacancies or not (which are notified on the school website). For Admission in Class 11th, the Class 10th Board Exam marks are considered.
