The Sainik School Jamnagar was established in 1961. It is an English medium senior secondary all-boys residential school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The main agenda of the school is to prepare its students for the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA). Currently, the school houses 576 cadets, enrolled in class 6th to 12th. The school is situated in the Balachadi estate, Gulf of Kutch.

The school curriculum is truly multi-faceted. The academics section is a combination of a teacher's human touch laced with the latest technology. The management has developed state-of-the-art laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology and a computer cum multimedia lab. The school also houses a well-stocked library having over 7000 books in different languages. 

The school also provides specialized coaching for NDA, SSB and the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

A heavy emphasis is laid on sports and physical activity. The school incorporates personnel of the 'Army Physical Training Corps' and various other specialized coaches to train the cadets. There are multiple facilities available for sports including- NDA Obstacles, a sports ground, an athletic ground and a parade ground. The school management has also developed facilities for games like Cricket, Hockey, Cross-Country, Tennis etc.

The school follows a House System, consisting of 8 houses, i.e. 72 students in each house. The house system is introduced to inculcate a sense of teamwork and leadership in the students. Various inter-house competitions are held throughout the academic year. The school organizes multiple Inter-house literary activities in mainly three languages- English, Hindi and Gujarati. These events include- declamation, debate, essay writing, quizzes, group discussions, spell bee competitions etc.

Admissions in Classes 6th and 9th in all the 33 Sainik Schools is through the 'All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE)', conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

• Date of examination- 10 January 2021
• For Admissions in Class 6th, the age of the candidate has to be between 10-12 years as of 31st March 2021.

• Registration fees for the candidates of all other categories- Rs 550/-
