Loreto Convent College, Loreto is one of the oldest and the finest institution in the city and Loreto was founded in 1616 by an English woman, Mary Ward. The institution started and established a religious life which made girls education their main agenda. The Loreto came in India in 1841 and launched the institutions in Northern India. The first Loreto school in Lucknow was started in 1872 on the Shnaif road.
