Durga Charan Girls Inter College, Varanasi

In the past, there was no educational institution for the girls of Bangi Samaj in Kashi. At such a time, in 1918, Mrs Krishna Bamini, a disciple of Swami Vivekananda, established the first educational institution for girls at Srinath Bhavan in Rampura area.

In which the number of female students was only three. At that time, there was almost no other institution for the education of girls in any other community in Kashi. Unfortunately, he died three months later. After that, the institution had to be shifted to another building, and in his memory, the name of the institution was converted to Krishna Bamini Girls School.

Within a few years, the institution started moving up to class VI up to the path of development. At the same time, due to the hard work Mrs Hemprabha Majumdar Ji, another institution was added to the Women's Technical Training Institute, and the name of this institution was named Vivekananda Vani Bhavan Krishna Bhamini Balika Vidyalaya. 

The school was recognized in 1924. Subsequently, in 1935-37, Mr Ashok Chand Rakshit gave a massive donation to the school in the pious memory of his revered father, late Durga Charan Rakshit. The then managing committee kept the name of the institution named Durgacharan Girls Inter College, keeping in mind the condition of the donor. The high school in 1945 and this educational institution in 1957 got intermediate recognition.

As the school progressed on its progress path, the school faced many difficulties, especially irregularities in government grants. Due to which in 1964-65 the institution was divided into two parts. 

1. Primary Department, 
2. It was divided into the Secondary Department.

Today, both departments are being operated as separate units. And since 2017, DC English English School, the third new unit of this institution, is being successfully used in the Gauriganj area. Keeping in mind the all-round development of the students, in addition to teaching in the institution, attention is also given to subjects like song-music, painting, sports etc. and every national festival and jubilees of great men are celebrated with great devotion.

 Schools motto- To transfer lives by instituting value-based education to the students, to give young women of society, developing their full potentials in their quest for excellence till they mature into a harmonious life with self, God and the others.

The school also conducts yoga for its students.

1. Children are required to submit a birth certificate for admission in class 6,9 and 11.

2. Admission up to class 6, 9, 11 will be based on available seats and entrance examination.

3. At the time of admission, it is mandatory to submit the mark sheet, Aadhaar card copy and transfer certificate of the previous class.

4. Admission will be made purely based on the entrance examination

5. It is mandatory to fill the admission form and submit it to the office before admission.
