Description

Carmel Convent School, New Delhi, was founded on July 16th,1957. It is one of the institutions conducted by the Congregation of Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel. The school has been recognized by the Directorate of Education of the Delhi Administration and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. Over the years, the school has graduated from Delhi board, ICSE (1976) to CBSE (1981), and currently, the number of students on a roll today is above 2000. Carmel has come a long way since its inception in 1957.

Carmel Convent School has been striving to draw out the full potential of the students and especially of the women and fostering in them the rich  Christian values and cultural heritage so that they are urged to respond to life's challenges with joy and courage that is rooted in prayer and committed to serving society as responsible citizens. While the Education is directed towards the development of the person, the teachers are primarily concerned with instilling Gospel values in those they educate and form responsible citizens in the country who will be ready to take their place in social, political, and cultural life with selflessness and zeal.

Carmel Convent has a spacious, well-planned building with well-ventilated classrooms surrounded by lawns and playgrounds. The senior school has well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology, where students are encouraged to enhance their scientific and innovative skills. The Computer labs in the Junior and Senior wings are equipped with the latest computers and multimedia technology. Students learn to program and work on different software as well. The school has a Senior and a Junior School Library. The fully computerized reference library and houses over 20,000 books are a treasure trove of information that grows each year. Reading sessions are conducted regularly, exposing students to good written and reading skills. Book weeks, interaction with eminent authors, and book reviews during the cultural week are also organized.
