The Billabong High International School was established in 1993, under the aegis of Kangaroo Kids Education Limited (KKEL). The school is a Co-educational, English-medium, Senior-Secondary School affiliated to:

• Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), which prepares students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC), i.e. Class 10th and 12th respectively.
• The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
• Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), United Kingdom.

The school gives its students an option to choose their own board/curriculum. As already mentioned, the academic curriculum is highly-diverse, but the quality of the classroom programme remains the same. e-Learning is an important aspect of the academic curriculum; in fact, it is already offering virtual online courses for its students in preschool. The faculty is competent and well-experienced. There are subject laboratories with dedicated lab assistants for physics, chemistry, biology, ICT lab etc. The school also houses a spacious and well-equipped library comprising of thousands of books, journals, periodicals etc.

The school authorities feel that physical activity and sports are integral in boosting a child's morale and confidence. There are various facilities and specialized coaches for swimming, skating, cricket, football, basketball and indoor games like chess, table-tennis etc.

Participation in Extra-curricular activities is actively encouraged. The school has a large auditorium in which various cultural events take place throughout the academic year. For admission in Class 1st, the minimum age of the candidate should be 5 years, 6 months. The admission kit which can be collected from the school office is worth Rs 1500/-

The admissions to all other grades depend on whether or not there are any vacancies.

The admission to Class 11th is primarily screened on the basis of marks obtained in the Class 10th Board Exams.
