Lakshmi School , Madurai

The Lakshmi School, Madurai is a co-educational English medium senior secondary school affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The school nurtures and prepares its students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) for class 10th students and Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams for Class 12th. The school was established in June 2000, is spread around a sprawling area of approximately 42 acres. 

The school take its academic curriculum very seriously. The teaching faculty is competent and well-experienced. The classrooms (around 800 sq. feet in size) are quite spacious, with approximately 48 classrooms that have been transformed into digital classrooms/smart classes. There are subject laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computers etc. The school also has a science forum for the students of class 7th and 8th. The school houses two well-stocked libraries- the senior library and the junior library comprising of over 20,000 and 12,000 books respectively.

The school houses a spacious multi-purpose auditorium equipped with state-of-the-art technology and has a seating capacity of around 1500 people. The school follows a house system- Anbu (Love), Aram (Righteousness), Arivu (Knowledge) and Arul (Grace). Each student is enrolled in a house when he/she enters the 4th grade. The houses compete in inter-house competitions throughout the year in the field of dramatics, singing, dancing, elocution etc. This inculcates a sense of teamwork and leadership qualities in the students. The students are also taken to field trips, excursions, camps etc. at least once in a term.

The school management feels that sports are essential in boosting a child's morale. The students of classes 4th to 5th frequently participate in EPL matches developed by Edu Sports- a sports village. The school has facilities for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball etc. The school has also hired specialized coaches for sports.

The school also provides Day-boarding facilities (a nutritious diet is also offered to the students during their extra stay), world-class transportation facilities and medical facilities (in which at least one nurse is present at all times during school hours).
