Hansraj Morarji Public School, Mumbai

Hansraj Morarji Public School (HMPS) initially an all-boys school (now co-ed) was founded in 1939 by Bai Kabibai and Hansraj Morarji Trust whose foundation stone was laid by Vallabhbhai Patel provides education from primary up to senior school in Mumbai.

HMPS is an English-medium school spread over an area of 50-acres (202,000 m2). Located at the foot of Gilbert Hills, the campus houses Rajhans Vidyalaya, a CBSE-affiliated Senior-Secondary school and Bai Kabibai Balvatika for Pre-Primary education of Hansraj and Rajhans. The school prepares students for the Secondary Certificate Exams conducted by the State Board Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (Maharashtra).

 HMPS provides all necessary amenities required for nurturing of students ranging from a top-class infrastructure to well-equipped labs and hostels (for boys). To keep up with the trend, the school started a junior college (in 2008) for providing education in science and commerce streams along with vocational course for IT.

With the ideology of “Providing enabling environment to students”, HMPS have many experienced and motivated faculties which are well-learned and trained with recent technologies for keeping the students up to mark.

Apart from curricular studies, for the sake of personality development of the students, the school has a drama club, math club, green brigade-the environment club. HMPS hosts regular cultural activities for overall development such as Debates, quizzes, speech and public-speaking to remove stage-fright and to improve fluency and languages such as English, Hindi and Marathi.

For the sports requirement, the school has a cricket ground, basketball courts, football ground, tennis courts and gymnasium. Keeping health and routine check-up of students in mind, the school has Ayaksha-a wellness clinic and an Audio-Video room for screening educational films. School also provides pick-up and drop transport facilities to various part of the city.

Keeping students down to earth and humble, the school makes students attend and celebrate various cultural programs such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Annual Day, Sports Day and Science fare etc.

HMP School provides high-class education which is reflected in its alumni base, from Amol Gupte (Bollywood screenwriter) to A.M. Naik (CEO L&T ltd) to Stand-up comedian Varun Thakur.

• Admission forms can be obtained from the office in April and should be submitted before the end of May.
• HMPS conducts entrance exams in June and considers merit for admission from class II to IX and the seats are filled accordingly. 
• Admission in class XI is based on merit scores(percentage obtained).
