The Indian Institute of Management Act of 2017, declared IIMs as institutes of national importance. This act brought a change in the governing bodies from IIM council to IIM coordination forums. IIM Lucknow – An Overview

In 1984, IIM Lucknow was the fourth IIM to be established. The institute is recognized as an “Institution of Excellence” by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. It offers various post-graduate programs (PGP), fellowships and executive programs in management. IIML is the first B-school in the IIM family to set up the education satellite for its second campus in Noida exclusively for the full-time MBA program.

Residential Facilities 

The fully residential institute provides accommodation to their students, faculty and research scholars. IIM has one of the best housing services in the whole country with first-class alluring facilities and amenities. 

Girls hostel:

The top management institute of India provides the best girl housing services. The hostel is fully equipped with the best facilities and every other amenities required. All the basic and immediate needs have been considered while designing the hostel. It has multiple blocks with a capacity of housing over 500+ students.

Boys hostel:

A separate boys’ hostel is maintained with topnotch facilities so that students have their own space and privacy with the ease of co-education. All basic needs are considered and provided by the institute. The washrooms and bathrooms are common and the hostel has multiple blocks so that students don’t feel clustered. 

Residential Amenities at IIM Lucknow:

  • Each hostel has its badminton, basketball and volleyball courts with table tennis.
  • There are two guest rooms: Chanakya & Patanjali. They have 64 air-conditioned rooms each with full-fledged facilities of LCD, WiFi, tea or coffee machine, etc.
  • There is a common dining hall in Chanakya which delivers and makes mouth-watering cuisines for the students, faculty, staff and guests of IIM Lucknow.
  • The campus prevents any form of ragging or bullying. Ragging is officially a punishable offence on campus and the institute does not endorse any ragging.

  • The campus has a fitness centre – Umang for gymnasts and fitness freaks who love swimming, squash or billiards. It also has a multi-functional hall called Samanjasya, for practicing various events.

Admissions

All the admissions take place only through national level exams. There are no direct admissions in IIMs and hence every year 1100 students are selected for various programs.

Eligibility: 

  • PGPM 

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PWD/DA category) by any recognized university by the central or state legislature or deemed as a university by UGC Act, 1956, under section 3. Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent can also apply.

  • PGP – ABM

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture engineering, science or any allied subjects with at least 50% marks or equivalent ( 45% for SC/ST/PWD/DA). Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline other than agriculture have to submit a special form for PGP-ABM at the time of PI. 

  • PGP – SM

Candidates should hold Bachelor’s Degree in any field with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD/DA). Candidates must have at least two years of work experience.

  • PGP – WMP 

Candidates must be an undergraduate from any field or equivalent academic pursuit (i.e. 10+2+3) with at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% for SC/ST/PWD/DA). Candidates must hold a professional work experience of a minimum of 3 years of full-time post or employee.

  • IPMX

Candidates must be an undergraduate from any field or equivalent academic pursuit (i.e. 10+2+3) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates must hold 5 years of full-time professional work experience.

IIM, Lucknow

Procedure: 

  • PGPM / PGP-ABM / PGP-SM 

The first stage is appearing for Common Admissions Tests conducted by the IIMs itself. Candidates are shortlisted based on CAT results for WAT (Written Ability Test) and PI (Personal Interview).

  • PGP – WMP 

Candidates should apply for forms with a copy of CAT/GMAT/XAT/GATE results or can even attempt for the WMP entrance exam conducted by IIM. The shortlisted candidates are called for PI (Personal Interview) following the final selection.

  • IPMX 

Candidates should duly fill and submit the forms along with SOP (Statement of Purpose) and two recommendation letters. The GMAT scores are considered along with 5 years of work experience. Lastly, the PI (Personal Interview) is also conducted for the students.

  • FPM / EFPM 

Candidates should duly fill the forms and submit them along with a copy of the results of the exams. The candidates are shortlisted for the PI (Personal Interview) and final selection based on the scores obtained.

Scholarships at IIM Lucknow

Need-Based IIM Lucknow Scholarship:

The total fee charged in the tuition fee component for up to 15% of student intake and also depends on the merit and family income. (Total family income should not exceed Rs 1,50,000)

Industry-Sponsored Scholarship:

Rs 6,000 to Rs 1,00,000 is awarded to candidates based on merit by multiple recognized industries. The industries include Hindustan Lever Ltd, Reckitt Benckiser, Aditya Birla, Ratan Tata, Citibank, Exim Bank, Nestle India Ltd, Central Bank Of India, Apeejay Trust And Bharti Foundation. 

Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship:

A maximum of 25% of students receive an amount of Rs 2,200 per annum subject to satisfy their stipulated means and merit criteria. 

SC/ST Scholarship:

The institute provides Rs 1,500 per annum to the SC/ST students on campus.

Placements 

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM) completed its placement procedure for session 2018-20 with a 100% placement record and has continuously maintained the legacy. This was the 34th batch of PGP with 443 students in record time. There has been a 20% boost in the pre-placements offers this year as compared to the 2017-19 batch. The increased participation of massive firms made IIM Lucknow the preferred destination for general management, e-commerce, IT/systems, consulting, finance, sales & marketing.
