Sardar Patel Vidyalaya (SPV) was established in 1957 by the Gujarat Education Society. It is located in the Lodhi estate of New Delhi. It is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. It has currently enrolled over 1,600 students from nursery to class XII, who are guided by over 200 experienced faculty members. SPV is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

CAMPUS AND INFRASTRUCTURE 

The school is located on the Lodhi Road in New Delhi and is surrounded by the beautiful Lodhi Garden in its neighbourhood. The administrative block of the school views the compound flanked by beautiful flowers and more than 1000 trees on the campus. The school has well-ventilated classrooms and modern laboratories for science and computers, a well-stocked library which has over 20,000 books and subscriptions to 25 periodicals and newspapers. SPV also has an indoor games centre where all sorts of indoor sports are played. CURRICULUM 

SPV is affiliated with CBSE. For Classes XI and XII, all the three streams are available: Science, Commerce and Humanities. It is the only private school in India that uses Hindi as the medium of instruction at the primary level. However, English is a core subject throughout from Class I to XII. 

SPV has a unique language policy. This policy allows both Hindi and English to be the medium of instruction at different stages. Students from Nursery to Class V use Hindi as their medium of instruction while students from Class VI to XII use English as their medium of instruction.
