Ascend International School, Mumbai

The Ascend International School, Mumbai was established in 2011. It is a Co-educational, English-medium, Senior-Secondary school affiliated to the International Baccalaureate (IB), a not-for-profit foundation, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The school campus is spread across a sprawling area of 2.5 acres. The IB offers 4 educational courses (for different grades/classes):

• The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged between 3 to 12.
• The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged between 11 to 16.
• The IB Diploma Programme for students aged between 15 to 19.
• The IB Career-related-programme for students aged between 15 to 19.

The teaching faculty is competent and well-experienced. The classroom programmes is an amalgam of a teacher's human touch laced with cutting edge technology. There are subject laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lab. The school also houses a spacious and well-stocked library with thousands of books, journals, periodicals, magazines etc. Another interesting thing is that Spanish is taught at the school ( A Camino largo, Paso corto- Long way, short step).

Participation in Extra-curricular activities is actively encouraged. The students get a chance to showcase their skills and talent in the field of singing, dancing, debates/symposiums, elocution and declamation etc. 

Sports and physical activity formulate an integral part of the curriculum (even for elementary school). The school has facilities and specialized coaches for swimming, cricket, football, yoga and indoor games like chess and carrom. The holistic development of a child right from the primary classes is the key goal of the school. A tricycle track, learning centre etc. are present for the young enthusiasts.

The school campus houses a spacious canteen in which fresh and hygienic food is served. A medical facility is also present on the school campus (in which at least one nurse is present at all times during school hours.) The school also has a well-rounded transport system for the safe and hassle-free commute of the students. 

The admission procedure is as follows:

1. The parents can procure the admission form from the school.
2. The following documents have to be submitted:
• Parents/guardians form.
• A Teacher's Recommendation form. (from the current school/nursery)
• Student Records/Transcripts Request (from 5th grade onwards)
3. After the submission and verification of the documents is completed, the admissions department will schedule an interview. 
4. A message detailing the do's and don'ts regarding the visit day is sent to the parents/guardians.
5. A written test is conducted followed by the interview of the child with the Headmaster.
6. The final step is the parent/guardians interview.
